What is a Mental Health Coach?
A Mental Health Coach can work with a client on a variety of issues relevant to personal and professional achievement. Mental Health Coaching is very different from psychotherapy, counseling, mentoring, and/or consulting.
As a Mental Health Coach, I would assist clients in identifying specific goals, establishing an action plan that supports the execution of these goals within a contextual framework that feels attainable for the client.
Individuals that would benefit most from Mental Health Coaching are clients that are insightful regarding their own thoughts, feelings and behaviors and have an effective toolbox of healthy coping strategies and practices that create balance in how they function in their personal and professional life.
Mental Health Coaching can assist in facilitating more motivation, problem-solving, understanding of internal/external barriers, accountability to increase productivity, modification of goals as needed, and overall alignment with a client’s vision/purpose.
